Description
NOVASOURCE® Renal — Nutritionally Complete Formula Tailored for Kidney Support
When your kidneys’ function is impaired—whether from chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), or dialysis—nutrition must be precise. NOVASOURCE® Renal is a specialized, calorie-dense and protein-optimized formula designed to help meet those unique needs.
Key Benefits & Features
- High calorie density: 2.0 kcal per mL—ideal for those with fluid restrictions or limited intake.
- Protein-rich: Provides ~21.6 g of protein per 237 mL serving (≈ 18-19% of total calories), supporting lean muscle maintenance.
- Electrolyte-modulated: Formulated with lower levels of potassium, phosphorus, sodium, and magnesium—helping manage common imbalances in kidney disease.
- Gluten-free & lactose-free: Suitable for many with digestion concerns (but not appropriate for those with galactosemia).
- Flexible use: Can be given orally or via tube feeding, under medical supervision.
- Multiple flavors: Available in Vanilla, Strawberry, and Café Mocha options to help with variety.
How & When to Use It
- As a supplement or mini-meal: Drink between or alongside regular meals when intake is insufficient.
- Under medical guidance: The number of servings per day is determined based on your fluid allowance, calorie goals, and kidney status.
- Tube-feeding compatible: Use in feeding regimens per clinical protocols.
- Best served chilled: Though it does not require refrigeration before opening, many find the taste more palatable when cold.
Shelf Life & Storage
- Shelf life: Check the “Use By” or expiration date printed on each product.
- Before opening: Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place (refrigeration is not required).
- After opening: Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

Nestle NovaSource Renal drink, Strawberry flavor
This is the best dialysis shake I’ve ever tasted. I’ve tried numerous brands and flavors but Nestle Strawberry flavor is the best by far. None are comparable. Great job, Nestle
